These styles are just an explanation should you wish to know our interpretation... the best style is the one called 'voyage of discovery' where we use all the above or none of the above, just straight forward, professional, quality wedding photography that is right for you on your special day!

coverage overview

Our wedding coverage starts before the ceremony... doesn't matter where it is, for example at the church, registry office or hotel... The story starts as your guests arrive, the groom and his party, then of course the bride.

 

We arrive in plenty of time talk to your religious leader if you have one, or the formal registrars to introduce ourselves and make them feel at ease. Many churches worry about what wedding photographers will do during the ceremony, will we get in the way, will we jump all over the alter... Just tell them that you have hired a 'professional' wedding photographer who has been trained and qualified with the leading industry bodies - the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) and the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP), we abide by their professional code of conduct to ensure you get the very best service. We fully respect that in the first instance this is a wedding and not a photography shoot! At all times we respect you, the venue and your guests, we are there to capture your day in images that will stand the test of time, presenting your descendants with an heir-loom to treasure for generations.

After the ceremony, it is your call if you would like formal family group shots at the ceremony venue, at the reception venue or not at all! Just let us know on the day or beforehand. As a good guide we find that 90-120 minutes is the best period of time to allow between the ceremony finishing and you sitting down to eat, to ensure that you have both formal and reportage (story telling) shots taken. This gives plenty of time for pictures and more importantly, plenty of time for a drink, eat canapés, and talking to family and friends.

 

We always try to end up with a staged 'cake cutting' shot, which is a nice way to finish the wedding photographic journey, but as always, it is up to you. This is best done prior to your guest taking their seats for the wedding breakfast at the reception. If you plan to hold a formal greeting of guests - a 'line-up' as it is known - then consider adding approximately 30 minutes for around 60+ guests, to get them through the hugs, kisses and hand-shaking.

 

We say our good-byes prior to you taking your seats..... This concludes our coverage and your wedding story in images. If you are not having a formal sit down wedding breakfast, then our coverage will conclude approximately 2 hours after the ceremony.

what is not included

We don't need to visit the venue, as this is unnecessary, it makes no difference whether we have shot there before or not - in fact we love it when it is a completely new venue for us. We don't need to meet with you prior to the wedding, a phone call is all that is required, however, we do encourage you to meet with us before you book as you book the person taking your photos NOT the photos you see in the photographer's portfolio! So come and say hi, talk over your plans etc... we can offer loads of advice, then after you have booked, we will call you a week before the wedding to confirm times and details before seeing you on the wedding day.

 

We don't have two photographers at a wedding as this is completely unnecessary, it will be either Sarah or Steve who are professional qualified wedding photographers and have been shooting weddings for a long time. The images are made available to you via our website for electronic download - no need to come in and view them, no need to wait for disks in the post. We will take between 300 and 600 images (approx) on the day, although every wedding is different, but this is a good guide from our extensive experience. We never hire other photographers in or sub-contract your wedding out to another photographer. It's just us and only us, we are completely accountable and personally committed to you and your wedding day and the professional images we produce. If we are both booked out we will tell you we are booked - not say yes, and then sub the shoot out to someone else. We only do one wedding a day each, and that's it, so we can fully concentrate on your needs and your day only.
